Fight fatigue and learn how to recover your emotional and physical energy.

1. The problem of FATIGUE

Mark 6:31-32 ESV-31 “And he said to them, ‘Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.’ For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. 32 And they went away in the boat to a desolate place by themselves.”

  • America is worn out.
    • Ten times as many people are suffering from depression as in 1968.
    • One-fourth of America has a mental disorder.
    • One doctor said that in one morning, 9 out of 11 of his patients were on antidepressants.
  • Four healthy rhythms: emotional, physical, time, and finances (first two this week, second two next week)

2. How to recover your EMOTIONAL ENERGY


  • Family/friends
  • Community/church
  • Reconcile relationships.
  • Start serving others.

b. Authentic EMOTIONS

  • Laugh!-“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” (Proverbs 17:22 ESV).
  • Cry-Don’t try to hold your emotions in, but release them in times of grief, hurt, or pain.


d. Consistent SPIRITUALITY

  • 16 “REJOICE always, 17 PRAY without ceasing, 
18 GIVE THANKS in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV).

3. How to recover your PHYSICAL ENERGY

a. Three things that drain your energy

  • You are out of shape.
  • You are sleep-deprived.
  • You are eating too much.  

b. Healthy EXERCISE

  • Heart
  • Muscles
  • Flexibility

c. Healthy SLEEP

  • Sleep pattern
  • Sleep enough.
  • Short nap

d. Healthy EATING

  • Eat low sugar, salt, fats.
  • Eat “real food”-(
  • Eat meals, not snacks.
