Key Scriptures: Ephesians 6:10-18

The Big Idea:

Jesus represented endurance in His time here on earth. He withstood temptation, persecution, and even fame. God allows His strength to be revealed in us through our hardships to intimidate the enemy!

Main Points: Words That Outlast the Devil

1. Truth

   • Read- John 8-11
     • We must seek the truth.
     • We must conform to the truth.
     • We must live in truth.

2. Stand in Salvation

   • 1 Peter 1:13
     • Let the thoughts of our salvation guard your mind.
     • Our minds can have some crazy thoughts. This is why it is so important to take every thought captive.
   • You have the ability to wage a war against the enemy for who has the authority over your mind.

3. Stand in the Word

   • You should know these 3 things from the Word of God
     • His promises
     • His precepts
     • His principles

Discussion Questions:

Have you ever felt like there was a war going on in your mind and you had little control over it. Maybe you have had moments of anxiety or fear. What have you learned about waging war with the enemy over your mind through this message?

What are some practical ways you can invest in the next generation in your life?

Challenge:

Satan’s greatest strategy is to get you to stop praying. But how great it is that we can pray wherever we go? In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, it says, “Never stop praying.” This week, let communion with God become your greatest priority.
