Key Scriptures: Ephesians 6:10-18

The Big Idea:

The enemy would love nothing more than for you to become distracted and unaware of his schemes. This is why we must be on guard for ourselves, our families, and even for our church. We must wake up and realize there is an adversary who wants to devour us.

Main Points:

  1. Guard yourself.

    • Guard your gate (eyes, ears, and mouth).
    • Guard your heart.
    • Guard your mind.
      • What are you thinking about?
  2. Guard the flock.

    • Guard your marriage.
      • Make it a priority to spend time together.
    • Guard your family.
    • Guard your friends.
      • Notice their walk with the Lord.
    • Guard your church.
      • Don’t tolerate divisiveness.

Discussion Questions:

Proverbs 4:23 says to guard your heart above all else. How have you been doing lately with the matters of the heart? Have you allowed offense to reside in your heart?

Have you surrounded yourself with friendships that challenge you in your walk with the Lord? When was the last time you asked a friend what books they were reading? How are you growing in Godly relationships with others?

This week, take time to pray against the enemy, for the mobilization of the church, and against the weapons formed against us.
