LESSON

Key Scriptures: Isaiah 40:28-31

The Big Idea:

As we learn to wait on the Lord, He then has the opportunity to renew our strength because our hearts are positioned to receive.

Main Points:

The Christian faith is all about being renewed. Renewal has to happen in our mind, spirit, and strength.

Renewal happens when we acknowledge three things:

1. Humanity is limited.

   • As humans, we have limited energy, patience, and knowledge.

2. God is limitless.

   • He never runs out of wisdom.
   • He never grows tired.

3. He has limitless generosity.

   • Ephesians 3:16 - “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.”

Discussion Questions:

When was the last time you practiced stillness?

Can you recall a time you were patient enough to sit in surrender to hear the voice of God? Share with the group?

Challenge:

Even the best of us get tired; we are human and have limited energy. However, as we practice waiting on the Lord, we can run with great endurance the race He has set before us.
