LESSON
Key Scriptures: Let us HOLD FAST the confession of our hope WITHOUT WAVERING, for he who promised is faithful.” –Heb. 10:23 (ESV)
The Big Idea:
We must hear, speak, hold fast to, and apply the word of God to our lives to have a faith that can move mountains.
Main Points:
Hear the Word
- “Faith comes from hearing and hearing through the Word of Christ.” –Rom. 10:17
- The Holy Spirit wrote the words in the Bible. He knows the exact Scripture that He can move from your mind to your heart.
- Until you hear that word, there is no faith.
Speak the Word
- Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if YOU HAVE FAITH like a grain of mustard seed, YOU WILL SAY to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” –Mt. 17:19-20
- Jesus spoke to trees and they died, storms and they stopped, dead people and they lived.
- Your words are your declaration; you either agree with God or the enemy.
- David spoke to Goliath and then did the impossible. (1 Sam. 17)
- Joshua spoke to the sun and then did the impossible. (Joshua 10)
Hold Fast to the Word
- “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” –Heb. 10:23
- What if you believe in your heart and declare with your mouth, but nothing seems to change? You continue to hold fast to your profession.
- The more your ears hear it, the more your faith grows. You become persuaded and convinced of the promise of God. Your mouth remains in agreement with God’s promise.
- Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” –Heb. 10:35-38
Application
- Get a Word.
- Speak the Word.
- Debt: Be removed.
- Depression: Be gone.
- Division: Be removed.
- Disease: Be healed.
