LESSON

Key Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:20.

The Big Idea:

As believers, we are ambassadors for Christ. It is our responsibility to take the gospel to others.

Main Points:

As Christ’s ambassadors, we carry these five things with us:

  1. Victory

    • God has called us to demonstrate the victory of Christ.
  2. Presence

    • We carry His Presence.
  3. Message

    • Our lifestyle carries the message of Christ.
  4. Grace

    • The way we endure hardships demonstrates the grace of Christ.
  5. Authority

    • We have Kingdom authority.

Discussion Questions:

Does your life reflect the message of Christ in the way you live in relationship with others? How’s your attitude?

What would the world be like if every Christian was like you?

Lesson: Paul’s Recipe for Unity

Leader’s Section

This is simply a guide for you to follow as you lead your group. Below is a recommended worship song, icebreaker, and flow for your B-Group experience.

Worship Song: “Better Word” by Leeland

Prayer: Always begin and end with prayer.

Icebreaker Question: What is your favorite time of year and why?

Stay In The Know: Leaders Retreat is August 21.

LESSON

Key Scriptures: Colossians 3:12-16.

The Big Idea:

Christ gave us unity. Ephesians 5:2 says to “live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ.” Our job is to maintain unity with one another.

Main Points: The 5 Angles of Unity

  1. Mercy

    • I feel your pain.
  2. Kindness

    • You get my smile.
  3. Humility

    • Philippians 2:3-5
    • The opposite of humility is pride and a self-seeking attitude.
  4. Gentleness

    • I am not going to fight you.
  5. Patience

    • I’m not giving up over something little; I am here!

Discussion Questions:

Read Ephesians 4:2. Forgiveness is not always easy. Keeping our mouths shut can be so hard! Which of the five angles of unity do you feel is the hardest for you to show others?

Read Colossians 3:15. Are you helping set an atmosphere of peace in your home, at work, and with friends?

Challenge:

Instead of gathering to gossip, complain, or disagree, we should find ourselves living out Colossians 3:16. Make it your mission this week to have hearts of gratitude and to encourage one another. Watch what God can do when our hearts are united!

Lesson: Renew Your Strength

Leader’s Section

This is simply a guide for you to follow as you lead your group. Below is a recommended worship song, icebreaker, and flow for your B-Group experience.

Worship Song: “Wait On You” by Maverick City Music

Prayer: Always begin and end with prayer.

Icebreaker Question: Have you ever run out of gas while traveling?

Stay In The Know: Freedom Encounter is July 10. Register online while tickets are available.

LESSON

Key Scriptures: Isaiah 40:28-31

The Big Idea:

As we learn to wait on the Lord, He then has the opportunity to renew our strength because our hearts are positioned to receive.

Main Points:

The Christian faith is all about being renewed. Renewal has to happen in our mind, spirit, and strength.

Renewal happens when we acknowledge three things:

  1. Humanity is limited.

    • As humans, we have limited energy, patience, and knowledge.
  2. God is limitless.

    • He never runs out of wisdom.
    • He never grows tired.
  3. He has limitless generosity.

    • Ephesians 3:16 - “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.”

Discussion Questions:

When was the last time you practiced stillness?

Can you recall a time you were patient enough to sit in surrender to hear the voice of God? Share with the group?

Challenge:

Even the best of us get tired; we are human and have limited energy. However, as we practice waiting on the Lord, we can run with great endurance the race He has set before us.
