Understanding Your Role

Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds.

—Proverbs 27:23 NIV

Your ability to develop healthy relationships will help you minister in times of need. We believe you can effectively lead a B-Group if you can encourage people, share Scripture, pray, and help people discover their next step in their walk with Christ.

Helping people take their next step

Your goal as a B-Group leader is to get to know each person in your group and identify where they are in their spiritual growth. As you begin to identify where people are, help them take their next step.

  • If a group member is not in a relationship with Jesus Christ, bring him/her to a church service.
  • Invite them to experience salvation.
  • Accompany them to be water baptized.
  • Challenge them to complete Bethany Next Steps.
  • Help them be activated by serving on the A-Team.
  • Encourage them to cultivate their relationship with Christ by participating in our semester Encounter Retreats.

You may never feel closer to God than the moment you decide to forgive someone who isn’t worth it.
